Up early again and into Virginia. Only 400 more miles to go to Auntie Jenna's house... A beautiful, cool, overcast day thru the Appalacian Mountains. What a gorgeous drive!

COUSINS!!! Finally at Auntie Jenna's house. The kids jumped-out of the motorhome and played as hard as they could until the fireflies went to bed (they tried to catch them too!).

Lizzie and Eleanor attached to each other and just became the best of cousin friends! Curlers will provide "rock star hair" courtesy of Auntie Jenna for tomorrow on the 4th of July in the nation's capital!

As you cross over into Tennessee...you are crossing the Mighty Mississippi River! There was a riverboat on the water down below and the amount of water is incredible. It seems like there is more water than I have ever seen in all of Arizona!

Everywhere in Memphis there are signs about Elvis and Graceland.

We drove all the rest of the day thru Tennessee, to finally pass thru Knoxville (there are University of Tennessee stickers on EVERY car) and north up near the Virginia border (just outside Kentucky too)--950 miles in one day. The kids were asleep when we left the next morning from the rest stop where we slept and cuz they had been up late watching movies, they slept until 10:30 AM.

We got up early and left Auntie Becca's house...Auntie Emma left with her two little boys back to Texas 2 minutes before we drove away and Becca and Dan were pulling-out right behind us on their way to Utah!

After crossing the rest of OK, we came to Arkansas, which is a beautiful state! Lots of trees and farmland and rivers. We took a detour off the Interstate to bypass Little Rock and were richly rewarded with lots of beautiful farmland and towns on the state highway...what a fun couple of hours!

We pulled-in to Oklahoma City at 3:15 am Central Time...18 hours of driving and 1004 miles from our house to Auntie Becca's house! All in one day! Auntie Emma came-in from Dallas earlier in the evening to stay and play while we are here.

All day today was fun with cousins in OK City: to the Oklahoma City temple, to the Sonic World Headquarters (where the ice cream tastes the same as in Phoenix...), to the OK City bombing site memorial, back to home for a BBQ and swimming in the kiddie pools in the backyard.
What a fun day!

We stopped in Amarillo, Texas for gas and dinner. The sun was just setting after driving thru a "fat raindrops" thunderstorm. 14 hours in the motorhome so far...

Here we are in Gallup, New Mexico. As you can see, there isnt much there... Lots of Indian ruins and shops. The kids are still in PJ's after 7 hours of driving!

Day 1: Here we are with the motorhome...off on our adventure across the US of A!
